Healing with Horses, Land & Community

A Vision for Hays Farm

At Hays Farm, we are creating a space where healing, nature, horses, and community come together.

What began as family land on the Red River in Southwest Arkansas has slowly evolved into something much bigger than we ever imagined.

Some of my earliest memories were spent here; surrounded by horses, wide open spaces, dirt roads, hunting seasons, and the kind of freedom that quietly shapes who you become long before you understand why.

Years later, after experiencing profound loss, change, grief, healing, travel, and finding my way back to myself, I found myself returning to the same land that had shaped me from the beginning.

Today, Hays Farm is becoming a place rooted in connection; to ourselves, to others, to nature, and to the present moment.

In collaboration with Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary and alongside organizations like Jason's Box, our vision is to create meaningful experiences where horses, nature, movement, and community can come together in support of healing.

What We’re Building Toward

While we are still in the early stages of building this vision, our hope is to create meaningful experiences that bring people, horses, nature, and community together.

We hope to create opportunities for:

â€ĸ Equine-assisted experiences and workshops

â€ĸ Nervous system education and somatic practices

â€ĸ Retreats rooted in mindfulness, movement, and nature

â€ĸ Trauma-informed spaces for healing and connection

â€ĸ Educational opportunities exploring horse-human relationships

â€ĸ Veteran, youth, and community outreach initiatives

Why Horses?

Hays Farm is home to hundreds of rescued wild mustangs through our partnership with Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary.

These horses are powerful teachers of attunement, regulation, boundaries, trust, and presence.

Unlike traditional therapy settings, horses mirror the nervous system in real time, inviting us out of survival mode and back into connection.

Horses don't require us to explain our stories. Instead, they invite us into awareness, authenticity, and presence.

Supporting Veterans & Community Healing

Supporting veterans and creating meaningful outdoor experiences has long been part of Hays Farm and our family story.

Through organizations like Jason’s Box, we hope to continue creating opportunities for connection, community, and healing through shared experiences outdoors.

The focus of Jason’s Box is to provide severely injured combat veterans with free outdoor opportunities.

For over a decade, our family has had the privilege of hosting wounded veterans and witnessing firsthand the impact these experiences can have.

We’ve seen how time outdoors; around campfires, in deer blinds before sunrise, through meaningful conversations and shared experiences; can create connection and memories that extend far beyond the hunt itself.

Through nature, horses, hunting, and community, our hope is to continue creating spaces where people feel supported, connected, and reminded they are not alone.
